And now it's June...

Summer is almost here, seems like we almost didn't have a Spring here in New England this year. It went straight from snow to a couple weeks of rain, and then on to the sunny days of early Summer. I've been pretty busy lately with real life responsibilities but I wanted to share some of my recent captured moments. Forgive me if I don't stick to a theme this time, there will be a little of everything.

Hot and hazy days and thunderstorms make for some interesting shots!

And once the clouds are gone, like all New Hampshire girls.. I head to the lake!

A stop by Taylor Mill in Derry, Nh. yielded some beautiful photos. I'll share more of those another week!

Some sun and shade make for a lovely mood at the gazebo in Stark Park, Manchester, Nh. And you never know what might be blooming!

More Spring Adventures

I love a good adventure. Finding a new park to check out and explore. The surprise of not knowing what I'll find once I arrive and anticipating at least a few neat shots. So come explore some of the new places I've been to over the last few weeks with me!

For me, there's nothing more relaxing than a walk in the woods or a visit to a lake. After the long New England Winter it's really nice to have the warmer weather back!

Can you feel the soft grass beneath your bare feet? The sun kissing your skin? There's just something about dandelions that make it feel like Summer's coming.

And the Ladyslipper orchids are blooming, they're New Hampshire's state flower and endangered. Don't pick them if you see them out in the wild. Once plucked, it will never grow back.

These little beauties are one of the reason I always look down! You never know what hidden jewels you're walking past or walking on.

I love finding a great spot and bringing a pic-nic. Eating al fresco always makes a meal more fun.

Especially with the smell of lilacs dancing on the breeze!

And pretty pink petals slowly falling to the ground like snow.

I've seen so many colorful tulips, but I thought this painted tulip was really unique!

An absolutely perfect spot to sit and enjoy the great outdoors for awhile.... Just soaking in the Spring. Because before you know it, Summer will be here!

So take a deep breath and blow away your worries. Have fun, just because you're an adult doesn't mean you can't still play!!

Signs of Spring

Spring is arriving here in New England. One of my favorite times of the year here. New leaves, the smell of grass in the air, and the first bright blossoms begin to bloom!

A crocus pushes through the dried grass, and Autumn's crunchy leaves.

And then explodes to show us the bright yellow hiding inside.

Daffodils shine like sunshine. Even on a cloudy day.

Pink tulips opening their petals to let in the sun.

And try to entice bumblebees!

Rhodedendron bushes after a rain. Each little cluster of flowers was about the size of a half dollar.

And all around are tiny signs of life stirring. I found these little guys in front of my bank! One of the reasons I take my camera wherever I go, is because I enjoy finding something interesting to take a photo of! You never know when you'll see deer on the side of the road, or pretty flowers growing in front of your bank.

A weeping cherry tree is covered in pretty white flowers.

And a Weeping Willow starts to sprout leaves. I hope that I have encouraged you to find some signs of Spring in your own neighborhoods! As always, capture every moment. Find beauty where others may not. And always bring your camera!

Outdoor weddings

I've been lucky enough to know a few couples who have had outdoor weddings to photograph. I'll share some of my favorite captured moments with you. Wedding "season" is coming up, and if you're planning on attending one or more outdoor weddings I hope you'll try to capture a few moments of your own to commemorate the special day!

An interesting shot of the rings before the ceremony.

A poignant shared moment between brothers. Taking some shots of the children who are special to the bride and groom can give you a lot more shots than you know what to do with and give them a reminder of their role on the big day for years to come.

Capture a kiss! But more than that, try to include some family and friends' reactions!

I tried to capture the rings, the bouquet, the detailing on the dress.

I love the special feeling of hand on hand. Ring on ring.

Of course, you'll want to take some posed shots of the wedding party! Use what you have available to frame the shot. The gazebo works in this case.

A quiet moment. Take a deep breath and remember that your marriage will last much longer than your actual wedding day. May it be filled with joy and laughter, memories and happiness that lasts and lasts...

                                                               And enjoy the reception!!

A walk in Autumn...

Let's take another walk through some of last Autumn's foliage. I'm lucky enough to live close to several rivers, lakes and ponds. Which always provide great fall color!

A winding river leads us to color in the distance.

The small falls over the same river, just further up.

A path brings us around the lily pad and turtle laden lake. Notice the footbridge?

A sailboat out enjoying the glorious afternoon sun.

Reflections in the lake surface.

And crystal clear mirror images after the wind stopped screaming.

A tiny covered bridge, meant for horse travel... If you've never visited New England, our scenic byways and small town back roads can lead you to some of the most breathtaking views during Autumn. Get outside and capture your favorites!

Lynch park rose garden... pre-roses.

Let's take a walk through the Lynch park rose garden. There aren't any roses yet, but the architecture is just gorgeous. I'll bring you back in full bloom some time later in the Summer.

The falconry statue is one of the first things to catch my eye. The light and shadow playing across it was really beautiful.

You can see the ocean over the hill. The late afternoon sun painted quite a lovely photo for me to capture.

What a pretty copper topped gazebo. The pillars, the railing, the lion in the middle. I love it all.

Speaking of lions, check out this pair! The detail work on these were amazing.

The ribs, the belly hair, the paws... Just awesome statuary.
